Programs and Events
The Marathon County Extension Horticulture program offers educational workshops and events throughout the year to help you grow your gardening knowledge and skills. Our programs provide research-based information from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, tailored to the needs of Central Wisconsin gardeners.
From spring planting to fall garden cleanup, our programs cover topics relevant to your lawn and garden. Whether you’re a beginning gardener or have years of experience, our hands-on workshops and informative seminars provide practical, science-based advice you can put to use in your own yard.

HMoob Farmers/Growers Gathering
The mission of the Hmong farmers gathering is to support and empower Hmong-speaking farmers with practical knowledge, resources, and community connections that enhance agricultural productivity, sustainability, and economic opportunity.

Whether you are new to gardening or looking to sharpen your skills, this free course offers practical, science-based guidance for growing vegetables. Join us in person or online for four drop-in friendly classes that cover:

Using IPM to Control Insect Pests
Disease and Weed Control Strategies
Free! No prerequisites. Attend one or all sessions to build your gardening confidence.
